  • The US saw a 27% increase in new cases in the week to 5 July, compared to the previous seven days, with 24 states reporting positivity test rates above the level that the World Health Organization has flagged as concerning.

    Bad.

  • ""Mexico has been grossly underestimating its Covid-19 death toll, according to a growing number of independent studies suggesting there have been tens of thousands of deaths in excess of the official count, casting doubt on President López Obrador’s insistence that the pandemic has been tamed."" .... https://mexiconewsdaily.com/news/coronavirus/mexico-vastly-underestimating-virus-death-toll/

  • @kurth

Well, here in Mordor it is stricker and stricker rules on how to make PCR test. According to various reports it is less and less people tested while public test numebers are huge.

Even private labs are required to report any positive test to goverment and resend sample to goverment laboratory (usually takes big time).

We also have idea to use CT scan to diagnose COVID that is impossible according to leading countries experts. With such approach around 90% of emergency cars spend their day waiting in row for CT scan to be performed (instead of helping people).

  • Mordor news

Emergency calls related to pneumonia nearly doubled, yet reported coronavirus cases are declining.
Emergency service is wastly overloaded according to reports from many cities.
Tests now are very hard to make.

  • @jleo LMFAO! So sad but true.

Then we have the almighty expert on everything "TRUMP" that doesn't help the situation! Along with all of the hypocrites (Senators) and supporters that allow him to keep doing what he is doing. The only Republican US Senator that has a moral compass is Mitt Romney. The rest of them are shills!

TRUMP The “billionaire” who hides his tax returns The “genius” who hides his college grades The “businessman” who bankrupted 3 casinos and lost over $1B in 10 yrs The “playboy” who pays for sex The “Christian” who doesn’t go to church The “philanthropist” who defrauds charity The “patriot” who dodged the draft The “innocent man” who refuses to testify The “President” who takes no responsibility The “tough, strong man“ who wears makeup and hairspray The “deal maker” who has yet to close a deal

I hope and pray for the world that this idiot is not reelected as the U.S. President.

  • This guys are persistant

They have better medications for hospitalized patients now, too. Since March, doctors have cycled through a few different options — like hydroxychloroquine, which turned out not to be effective. Now, they’re primarily using remdesivir, and antiviral drug that appears to help COVID-19 patients recover more quickly, and the steroid dexamethasone, which helps improve the survival rate for patients on ventilators.

Actually it is no scientific papers on efficiency of remdesivir and EU approved it despite all logic.

  • More good news

The cases, published in the journal Brain, revealed a rise in a life-threatening condition called acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (Adem), as the first wave of infections swept through Britain. At UCL’s Institute of Neurology, Adem cases rose from one a month before the pandemic to two or three per week in April and May. One woman, who was 59, died of the complication.

A dozen patients had inflammation of the central nervous system, 10 had brain disease with delirium or psychosis, eight had strokes and a further eight had peripheral nerve problems, mostly diagnosed as Guillain-Barré syndrome, an immune reaction that attacks the nerves and causes paralysis. It is fatal in 5% of cases.

  • @kurth

Always remember that science is always class dependent thing. No such thing as independent class free science exist in capitalism.

Example also clearly showed that even presidents and over high ranked people can go against common class interest. And here it is hundreds of billions of dollars at stake.
