Sony ZV-1 II and ZV-1F Move to WPA2 and Add More Languages in Latest Firmware Updates

While we’re all eagerly awaiting news about more potential mirrorless and cinema line cameras from Sony (the Sony FX2 is exciting, but we always want more, you know), the company is continuing to roll out some nice and helpful firmware updates for their current lineup of cameras.These firmware updates are focused on two of Sony’s most popular point-and-shoots, the Sony ZV-1 II and the Sony ZV-1F, both set to get some added functions, improved operational stability, and more.Let’s look at everything new with the Sony ZV-1II firmware update 2.01 and the Sony ZV-1F firmware update 2.0.Sony Point-and-Shoot Firmware UpdatesAs mentioned in the header, one of the most significant moves with this firmware update for both cameras is the loss of a familiar feature. Both the Sony ZV-1 II and the Sony ZV-1F are set to lose WPA and WEP functionalities as they will no longer be supported. However, this is merely a formality as Sony is indicating that it would prefer for all of its users to move to the more secure WPA2 as a safer and more reliable option for your Wi-Fi security protocol. The other major updates here are pretty much the addition of another language (Brazilian Portuguese) in the available languages.
