Then read on … A few years back, I was forced to replace my old living room TV with a new 55″ OLED display. I was stunned by the contrast, the deep blacks and bright highlights, as well as the superb colors. Back then, I was quickly researching whether OLED technology was also available as a desktop display. And I quickly realized that, yes, there were already a few brands available, but they were all costing around $3,500 to $5,000, … too much for me. Hence, I abandoned this thought and continued with my 21:9 LED monitor, which I use for editing. I must say, though, that I was always a bit frustrated that my video footage looked different on my living room OLED screen than it did on my LED monitor. I calibrated the LED monitor frequently with a Color Munki colorimeter, but it still didn’t feel right.
