DZOFILM Arles Lustre Cinema Prime Lens Series Introduced – T1.6/T2.8 Large-Format for Mood and Texture

DZOFILM has launched a new set of full-frame cinema primes under the Arles name. The Lustre Cinema Prime series features a T1.6-T2.8 aperture and large-format coverage, offering a softer, more artistic image that falls between vintage character and the technical precision of the original T1.4 versions. Let’s dive in! DZOFILM’s Arles series was designed for clean, neutral imaging with full-frame coverage and fast T1.4 apertures. The lineup includes the Arles B set, ranging from ultra-wide at 14mm up to a 180mm telephoto, and the Arles T1.4 Prime Cine 5-Lens Set released last June. The original Arles aimed for precision and consistency; Lustre simply flips that dial toward mood and texture, without abandoning the underlying build quality of the original set. Design and build According to the company, the Arles Lustre series was developed in collaboration with professional cinematographers and went through more than 50 optical iterations, aiming to balance clarity with a distinct character. There are ten focal lengths from 14mm to 180mm, all featuring a fast T1.6 to T2.8 aperture. The lenses cover Vista Vision sensors and are compatible with PL, EF, and LPL mounts. Mechanically, the set features standardized gear positions, a consistent 95mm front diameter, and a relatively low weight of 1.4–1.9kg / 3.1–4.2 lbs that works well with gimbals, drones, and remote rigs.
