Canon EOS Firmware Update Announced for Cinema EOS C80, C400 and PTZ Cameras

With the Canon EOS firmware update, Canon continues to elevate their Cinema EOS and PTZ solutions by pushing updates that enhance performance and streamline workflows. Canon has just announced that forthcoming firmware updates for their Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) and Cinema EOS camera lineups will introduce advanced functionalities and enhanced performance. The PTZ updates, encompassing indoor and outdoor models such as the CR-N700, CR-N500, CR-N300, CR-N100, and CR-X300, augment the auto tracking paid add-on with advanced multi-person tracking, improve live streaming capabilities, support the Multi-Camera Control application, and introduce additional features. Firmware updates for Cinema EOS cameras, including the EOS C400 and EOS C80, also enhance capabilities and broaden creative control from scripted cinema to live events. EOS C400 and EOS C80 enhancements The firmware updates for the EOS C400 and EOS C80 Cinema cameras will enhance the cameras’ performance and usability by incorporating the following features: The EOS C400 and EOS C80 cameras will support distortion and chromatic aberration correction while playing back Cinema RAW Light clips on camera. This ensures that productions can accurately review takes on-set without the need to transfer the card to a computer first. The Peripheral Border Display, also known as Display Level 2, will be enhanced to provide a quick visual overview of key information, including sensor mode and resolution, selected recording codec for each card slot, custom picture gamma and colour space, digital image stabilisation status, and tilt and roll degrees of the electronic level.
