PTool v3.65d topic
  • PTool v3.65d released

    https://www.personal-view.com/faqs/gh2-hack/ptool-software

    1. You'll need to download firmware from http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/download/fts/index2.html

    2. StreamParser by Chris Brandin as help tool to analyse AVCHD streams - https://www.personal-view.com/faqs/gh2-hack/ptool-software

Other good idea is also use trial version of Elecard StremEye - http://www.elecard.com/en/download/products.html

    3. Remember that Testers section patches are for testers. Use simple bitrate patches.

    4. How can I make encoder hold better in low detailed scenes? Use Auto Quantizer patches.

    5. How to update firmware:

      • Load your camera firmware, see 1. how to get it.
      • Check all necessary patches, Version increment must be always checked.
      • Save firmware. Just change last digit to any number you want.
      • Copy firmware to root of SD card. Fully charge you battery. Do not even attempt to use AC coupler!
      • Power off your camera if it was on.
      • Power on camera. After this press (not hold) green play button.
      • You'll see hourglass and prompt to update.
      • Press down arrow and after this Menu/set.
      • Wait until upgrade will be completed.
    6. How to provide reports in this topic?

      • Post here only problems and questions about new patches. For all else we have special topics.
      • Use systematic approach (one-two changes at a time with careful thinking).
      • Shift-Click on round button in PTool to save your particular settings.
      • Attach here settings with detailed observation + MediaInfo screenshot + StreamParser screenshot in case of troubles.
    7. Read FAQs at http://www.personal-view.com/faqs

If I'll have time I could add tables to GH1. But most probably, not, only in next release.

  • Hi @Vitaliy_Kiselev, should we expect anything new with the upcoming Ptool v3.66 for "old" bodies (GF1, GH1, GH2) ? Txs !

  • @thepalalias No the iso stays also fixed in "Manual Movie Mode". So I guess it's a feature to have auto iso on when using the red record button while not in Movie Mode.

    @all Thanks a lot!

  • @anti12 Do you get the same result when you hit the shutter button instead of the red record button?

  • Thanks No_SuRReNDeR I-dynamic is disabled. To make sure I went back to Firmware 1.0 and did a complete reset of user Settings. The result is the same. Manual iso is only possible when using 24p Movie Mode. I'm clueless.

  • Its probably not the iso shifting its the I-dynamic make sure that is set to off. The Auto Iso thing is a false reading the hack causes.

  • I recently started to use the 720p and 1080i modes and was shocked that the camera switches to auto iso as soon as I hit the red record button. (visible exposure shift when panning from window to dark room)

Everything is set to Manual Mode and works as expected when using the 24p or HBR modes.

  • good night. how do I re-patching the original GH2? He changed two times.

  • Thank you VK! Super! One of my favorites, will be one of the most used:

  • @thepalalias: right. that was my problem. @VK: Thanks, did not use Categories before.

  • Guys, http://www.personal-view.com/talks/categories/hack-development category is less then one page long. Spend few extra seconds, it is not very hard.

  • @Macalinacag

I thought VK created a new topic for each version?

  • @fatpig

It's simple. Just "follow" this topic.

  • For some reason, this topic can not be found by forum search. I suggest It becoming a sticky, always newest version! VK? please? :)

  • Looks like the biggest thing, to me at least, is the Max ISO limit removal bug is fixed on the GH1 with this version. ISO 3200 is unlocked now, but if you're GH1 is bad with FPN....ugh...watch out, plaid city.

  • lol, funny enough the gnome looks just like me.

  • @mee Oh that's a nice grip!

  • @oscillian I believe you meant to say Gnome Holds Beard

  • Man! The signal to noise ratio has dropped massively on this forum recently. A total vacuum, awaiting 23:00 CET when it's time to stop yer grinnin and drop yer linen! Cut my legs off and make me shorter, if it ain't the nihogno speaking guy rearing his head!

  • Ptools 3.66 that zoops up my gf2 gf3 gh2 to a 4k camera

  • Let the beard stroking session commence! No holds barred! (i.e you are allowed to grip your beards freely)

  • Hmm. (Strokes actual and not imagined beard).

  • I forgot to mention I was only joking. In case it was confusing :)

  • ^^ or is it? (strokes imaginary beard)

  • Oh, meta-humour! The joke is that the one joking believes the joker jokes about the joke being a joke about the joke. But we all know that is the joke.
