  • Seriously thinking about getting one of these after watching the video
  • Yep those UK ebayers are all putting their prices up to £108 now, and are no longer offering free postage. I know it's not much more, but the principle people. We berate our politicians for being money grabbing bastards, but really we're all a product of that ugly, pull the ladder up jack and sod the rest, system. Stop the world, I wanna get off. Why the fuck did I have to pick videography as a hobby!? Every purchase can feel like you're bending over in the shower to pick up the soap bar...in prison. I really hope you can open up the GH2 a bit more Vitaliy, and good luck to anyone that acts out of selflessness.
  • @ignatius
Yeah $168. Fucking business in it's best.
But you can still get FF at AliExpress for $142.
  • Vitaliy,

No problem, I was contemplating getting one direct from Ebay UK and just wanted to see if anyone on this forum had any experiences. Selina1900 and Jinfinance are now selling at $168 (£105 to me) with free shipping, but everything I buy from abroad I get stung with import duties and if it's UPS delivering they try and bill me a "disbursement" fee. It would seem we openly encourage thievery in the western world...
  • @ignatius
I removed direct links, they are not cheap, and it is easy to find them on http://ebay.co.uk

I am not so sure about direct UK, but hope that it is true and you could get FF faster this way.
  • These are being sold on Ebay now direct from the UK. Prices are £99 or £115. Anybody had any experiences? I see one of the UK ebayers has sold 16, but no feedback yet

  • Indisystems FFs are no good.
Problem with making FF is that you need real big manufacturing to make such small and simple thing.
  • might have to get one of these. My indisystems one broke while in the middle of a 3 day shoot this week. Snapped right off at the gearbox after it was bumped by a stand. Cheap.
  • Other review:
  • Thanks. They must be crazy busy. I won't be surprised if this gadget hits $200.
  • good to hear they are caring.
  • Woo-hoo. All good. The seller apologized for the trouble. Free exchange. Yeap sending me the missing lens gear, too.
  • No response from the seller. I sent him 2nd email. I'm not in panic mode since ebay will take care of me if things go south. Hopefully the seller agrees to exchange it for free this week. Also I ordered 10 extra lens gears. $10 each. I'm supposed to get a total of 11. One from the gear box. But he sent me only 10.
  • ah yes you had the one with the clicking sound from the brass bearing coming in and out. i tried making mine do that but it simply doesnt, it looks like a good bet that you got a bad luck copy. we'll see if anyone else has those issues soon enough.
  • The first one
  • bad copy of which product?
  • Dude, I got a bad copy, but the seller isn't responding... yet.
  • Same date as me, you musta got lucky. Supposedly mine ships tomorrow, hope the rod rig i ordered also comes with it same time.
  • > What date did you order yours Stonebat?
    6/7

Make sure you test thoroughly when you get it.
  • I am interested with rig, is anyone tried it yet? Please share your impressions here.
  • >Proud of my countrymen!

Chinese sellers are pressing harder and harder with each month (they already make best focus under $200, and best one under $600).
Impact of this FF on low end sector is significant, for example.
  • If anyone still want to buy from ebay seller, you can ask for discount on FF via PM mentioning this site.
Works with direct payment only (so, I can hardly call this real discount, as it is almost equal to fees).
    Use AliExpress instead.
  • I'd also like to extend my thumbs up to this follow focus. I didn't buy it but had the opportunity to test it with my rig in a store here in Hong Kong (they sell it for US$230!!).
It's surprisingly light and sturdy. And I just love the way you can just pull out the gear and stick it on the other side... this is great for my cine lenses where the focusing mechanism is at the rear.
However, I didn't test the gears as all my cine lenses have in-built gears.
The only thing is that it's not height-adjustable - something you'll have to live with.

But overall... pretty damn good for that price! Proud of my countrymen!
  • For the pancake i would make a rubber doughnut that slips over the gear wheel and turns it with friction rather than gear meshing. Much less bulky as well.

What date did you order yours Stonebat?
  • Thanks, but I'm not keeping the pancake. PL 25.4 has fast and quiet AF. My pancake going to ebay next month.
