  • @atticusd Great! .DOC is great.

  • Hey guys! Everything is coming along. It's going to be longer than I previously planned: Around 6 minutes or more. If we have to shorten it out later that won't be a problem. Also, I'm more than prepared to rewrite the shit out of it in order to acommodate the story to the resources that we have at the end of the day.

@thepalalias I'm sending you a copy of the first draft not later than next wednesday so you can do your magic. I flight to Czech Republic on thursday and won't be back until the following week, so wednesday is a deadline marked in "red as hell's asshole" letters in my schedule. Which format would you prefer: Final Draft, Word (.doc)...?

Cheers to everyone! I hope to reward your patience with a good story.

  • @Bressonftw Yes sir, you certainly are on the list. Welcome aboard. It's nice to have a team on the Netherlands. This is going to be great!

  • I'm not sure, but I think I added my name to the list, can anyone confirm this?

  • @sanzadez I will definitely let you know as soon as I do (which will be when I start editing the script). At the moment it is all in the hands of AtticusD.

  • @thepalalias If you will be shooting anything for the trailer I would love to help out. I should be free after May, so just let me know if there is anything I can do to help out.

  • @AtticusD End of May will be great. Do not worry about what has come before, just where we are and where we are going. Everyone that works on this is going to be proud they did when we finish, believe me. Do not worry about doing right by us - worry about doing right by the characters. :)

  • @thepalalias Definitely before the end of May. I’ve had enough time already. Sorry to keep you guys waiting. I’ll really try that the wait will be worth it.

    @Kihlian Great! Welcome aboard!

  • @TrackZillas Glad you are onboard with the idea. AtticusD is already working on a script for the trailer, which I will be editing before we start planning production.

@AtticusD Do you have a sense of when your first draft could be ready? End of May? Mid-June? End of June? I would like to be able to provide an edited version to the team before the start of July (at the very latest) so that shooting for the trailer could start during the summer.

@Kihlian Thanks for adding the info. AtticusD will take that into account when looking at the options for the trailer.

  • I added me to the list. Live in the north east of Italy, not so far from Venice.

  • @B3Guy @RRRR @thepalalias @atticusd @Vitaliy_Kiselev We need a concrete concept to base everything around. I think we need to start shooting some test concepts to get a visual representation of what we trying to do, and grow it from there sort of like planting seeds. V.K is definitely right shoot a trailer 60 sec long to bring optimism.

  • @thepalalias @atticusd Guy's just added myself to the list got one question.. who are the script writers?

  • @atticusd

You can also think of New Zeeland.. Lotr / hobbit shoots a.s.o.. when it comes to wilderness / nature porn. ;)

(sorry for the excessively long links)

  • @thepalalias @rrrr And the cool locations keep coming up... Yummy!!! I've been browsing through some photos from northern Sweden and some of them remind me a lot of Asturias in the north of Spain. Beautiful stuff! I will look for more stills and keep them in mind while I write. It's certainly inspiring.

  • @thepalalias will do, later tonight! One interesting thing (which is rarely possible dramatic shooting conditions anywhere) is the twilight (during sundown). Also available (within reach) is all kinds of spectactular scenery, from deep and dense forests of different kinds (variations of pine mostly) to forestless mountains, to dramatic altitude variations (if venturing into norway), in combinations with streams, lakes, sea e.t.c.

  • @rrrr That`s great. :) Have you added your info. to the collaboration document yet?

@atticusd In case you are unfamiliar with the geography, northern Sweden is thought of by us southern Swedes as being more densely forested but with a lower population density. Being far north, the variation in the length of the daylight is huge over the course of the year and the summer has days so long that @rrrr would pretty much only be able to film daytime footage. Also remember that the color and angle of the light has more in common with say (for instance) the northwest than California, making for somewhat less saturated oranges and reds during shooting but beautiful blues and greens.

So not sure if you had any Swedish scenes in mind, but those are some considerations to keep in mind for the trailer. There are some great summer exteriors there. Cheers!

  • Hey Guys! Glad to see you are active! Not sure what your timetables are at the present but let me know if you need anything from northern sweden over june / july - when I hopefully will have a little more time at my hands. Right now it's crazy, part time stay home dad, part time (150%) working with commercial projects.. There are not enough hours in the day.

  • @thepalalias We’re on the same page, man. Something of a companion piece is not only a lot more fun to do but as you said it’s far more rewarding to the audience. I’m working in that direction. Let’s see if I succeed. And by the way, your marketing hat is a real handy thing to have, so please don’t apologize.

I wouldn’t mind having Indian incarnations of Peter and Randall in the trailer but I don’t think we have access to local talent there, am I wrong?

@TrackZillas Wellcome aboard! That’s great! Please do as Per said and list yourself in the doc (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1roPV0wfZu9ebPyXTg25HtNzjgky0yyfPuVTmECdFd8k/edit)

  • @Trackzillas Great! Please add your information to the Google document that AtticusD linked to above. Basically we just need your skills, connections and availability, but as you can see most of us have been exeedingly general.

@AtticusD Looks like you have an NYC option for the trailer.

There is a chance I may be spending some time in Atlanta and India soon. Let me know if we need exteriors from either location (in case I have free time).

  • Hey guy's I'm in the NYC area I'm ready to help..

  • @atticusd My thought is that something set a little earlier will have more value to the audience. It will make seeing the trailer more like something they want to do, something that gives them an advantage in understanding the sotry over someone that has not. I mean, I am not saying we should actually require that people see the trailer or leave things out of the main movie, but making it more like a prologue or self-contained mini-story could be a lot more fun for the viewer than throwing in "deleted scenes" (to use a clumsy analogy).

My thought was that the trailer could (in the direction if not in the writing) really sell the experience of being the character, so that the audience comes into the movie to find the story that will come through that. So the trailer doesn`t have to have a ton of plot and exposition, it just has to be very elegant.

Well, those are my two cents. But you`ll forgive me if I sometimes find it difficult to take my marketing hat off since so much of the consulting I do involves at least some amount of that. :)

Looking forward to what you come up with!

  • @thepalalias Something within the timeline or perhaps a bit earlier.

  • @atticusd Makes sense. Are you planning for the trailer to be scenes that precede the film, follow the end of the film or exist within the timeline of the film but "off-camera" as far as the main script?

  • Hey guys! I haven’t forgot about you. Things continue to be on the crazy side on my little corner of the world. So I still don’t have anything to share trailer wise. It’s a matter of days now, really. The two concepts I’m working on are pretty basic anyway:

    1) A couple of scenes that won’t appear in the released movie but give a clear idea of the story. It’s a trailer but at the same time feels like a solid entity in itself.

    2) Breaking the fourth wall. I won’t say more for now.

    Happy shootings!

  • @Vitaliy_Kiselev The project would certainly benefit from having a boss. Problem is, how do we choose it? Any volunteers out there?

@thepalalias For the trailer, it would be nice to have at least two crews shooting different incarnations of Peter and Randall. In this way, the nature of the project would be reflected already in there: Different crews spread around the world, different actors to portray the protagonists and a story that takes advantage of all that. The concepts I’m playing with would work better with two different crews based in two different countries but if we have to stay in the U.S. for whatever reason it wouldn’t be a problem.

I’m also looking for ways of depicting the jumps. I’m in the same wagon as you but still haven’t found anything convincing yet. I’m sure we’ll manage to do it in an original and elegant way.
