I've seen numerous people on the various filmmaking forums putting their NX1's up for sale just to get the latest thing Sony will abandon in 6 months.
How many exactly?
NX1 is still the best bang for you buck camera out there right now. I've seen numerous people on the various filmmaking forums putting their NX1's up for sale just to get the latest thing Sony will abandon in 6 months.
A lot of people are selling their NX1's for the Sony A7RII.
LOL. Nope. And all this fascination with many different log profiles is also quite funny.
Gamma DR in my opinion is really good but it's nowhere close to being flat as S Log or the shooting "Film" with a Blackmagic camera. Samsung could address this with firmware or maybe hold off. Either way this camera is great. I'd rather have 3 NX1s intead of 1 A7RII. I imagine there will be a huge supply of used A7RII's by the end of the year when the A7SII drops.
@chopnshoot What happened with the Gamma DR releases? People didn't like them?
A lot of people are selling their NX1's for the Sony A7RII. I guess people are willing to pay triple the price of the NX1 for S-Log. I hope Samsung sees what's happening and roll out their own log profile ASAP.
Lots of used like new bodies around $1134 at Amazon
I just received my NX1 with Pentax, Nikon and T2 adapters so I did a few quick tests with a 50mm F1.4 FA Pentax, 300mm F4 M* Pentax , 15mm F2.8 Sigma and it looks they may work better than my GH4. I used a trial version of Edit Ready on my Mac Pro for the H.265 to H.264 conversion.
All USB bricks will give you the same voltage and at least 1A current. That's more than you need. So select based on reputation (like Amazon reviews), size, and price. Make sure you read the spec and reviews first. This pack is big and close to 1lb.
I do not own this one but that's what I would buy if I would need high capacity USB battery. For what I do, the NX1 battery is all I need.
This one will work with the NX1? If so, thanks a million! :)
that looks like a good one. the LED percentage meter is a nice touch.
If you need a high capacity low cost USB pack, take a look at this one: http://www.amazon.com/External-20000mAh-Limefuel-LP200X-Flashlight/dp/B00OHZVN5U/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1434170383&sr=1-3&keywords=usb+battery+pack
Best Buy is more expensive now. It's still a little steep for such a low power rating. I'll have to keep looking.
Its a usb charger. Can a7s and GH4 take a charger?
This is the one I have: http://www.amazon.com/myCharge-RZ30V--Razor-Rechargeable-Battery/dp/B00J4O1YBW/
You might want to check Best Buy because I got mine for cheaper than Amazon is selling it for. Not sure why but the silver charger was cheaper than the other colors.
@chopnshot Do you know if this charger works with Sony A7s and Panasonic GH4?. If so, it's a fantastic power solution.
Thanks!
I got a charger called MyCharge from Best Buy it was like 30 bucks roughly the size of an iphone. I had it with me on a shoot once and ran it in to the camera while it sat in my pocket. There are probably better ones out there. I got it for my phone and it was the only thing Best Buy had in stock.
I haven't heard good things about those off brand NX1 batteries.
Do you recommend any particular USB charger? Thanks!
Battery life is way above average in video. If you check on Amazon there is pack of 2 off brand batteries for 30 bucks.
Or you can just get on of those USB cellphone chargers. It'll power the camera and recharge the battery inside.
Anyone come up with a reasonably priced, solid, long-lasting external power pack solution for the NX1? The official BP-1900 batteries are expensive as hell and drain quickly in video mode. I also would like to shoot long time lapse RAW sequences.
Thanks!
