Small little test to get a handle on the new anamorphic workflow.
This thing is a beast in size but actually quite usable. Mounted on rails.
Might look at the set SLR Magic created to match the 1.33x Anamorphot-50:
@stanlymanly2 I never really looked into diopters really. I had a +1 diopter that brought the focus in to about 8 inches which was fun but a pain in the ass. 72mm was the size that fit my anamorphic but I would definitely measure. A +0.5 diopter would work great to cover what the MFD cannot. See this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/72mm-Close-up-0-5-Diopter-lens-exc-quality-TESTED-SAMPLES-anamorphic-or-macro-/221461488366?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item33902222ee
@artiswar could you recommend a diopter or kit of diopters from the web that I could purchase? i really want to play around with this Schneider Kreunach lens i acquired at my new job at a movie house! they gave it to me like it was nothing to them! :p
@stanlymanly2 - Not without a diopter.
It's funny that this topic comes back up as I am now in the progress of rebuilding my anamorphic set up, now with a Bausch and Lomb projection lens which I've cut up. I'm rehousing it on a rails and bellows system so we'll see how that fairs. Shot a improptu short on the cut up B&L on a 5D MKIII raw. It was a struggle keeping the lenses comillated and keeping light out of the two elements so hopefully spending more time affixing the lenses on a dedicated rail system will help.
i know this is a bit old but are you able to focus closer than 5 feet? if so how?
and did you directly mount the anamorphic lens to your fd lens?
