    Was supposed to arrive Wednesday, will pick up at UPS on Friday. Ordered from Adorama January 7.

    @whynot nah I dont think they cover grey imports. The only fix is a panasonic service centre. you can always ask but im sure they will want to persuade you to buy local. When I import I take the gamble of no warranty and hedge the cheaper prices, faster delivery resulting in paid work will offset any possible warranty claims if any.

    that said, my pre order with gerrygibbs just got back to me saying they are expecting delivery sometime this week, so fingers crossed I will be getting mine soon.

    I guess the GH3 is slowly crawling into Asia. Should be in store anytime next week in Singapore. Screw Panny anyway,

    @ MRFanny, you reckon you could get one with an international warranty from somewhere? Is that possible. I was fine about getting my GH2's from Hong Kong but the GH3 I was hoping I could buy local in Sydney due to the higher price which for me would make a warranty appealing.

    @Kob , i got brand new GH3 here in Sweden and it does not come with protected film on LCD.

    I'm getting no replies from my pre-ordered store either. I think i might just cancell it and get a grey import instead. Pana australia is useless.

    On the international issue, Lumix has been big in Panama for years, huge advertisements everywhere, cameras in every electronic store, pop-ups in malls, etc, but no GH2 ever came, and no GH3 it appears will.

    This was the best part!

    How about make proper worldwide guarantee, guys?

    My recent email exchange with Panasonic Australia:

    So...where is the GH3 camera that has already been available for many weeks in the USA and Europe? You should take notice of the comments on photographic forums to the effect that Australia (particularly Panasonic Australia) is the "arse end of the world" when it comes to availability of a new Lumix model. No wonder Panasonic lost several Billion dollars last year. No wonder people need to resort to the Grey market imports out of desperation!

    Panasonic reply (21/1/2013):

    Thank you for taking the time to contact Panasonic with your enquiry.

    Sadly we are unable to provide an availability date on the DMC-GH3 as we are currently waiting on further information regarding its future availability. Personally I would suggest against obtaining a grey import as we will not be able to provide support and depending on the country from where it was sold, it may not carry a warranty in Australia.

    After not-that-smooth ordering process I got today my new GH3 camera body from Samy's Camera, and I am a bit troubled with the following: The camera and most of the accessories do not appear to be packed inside a factory-sealed bag in the box, and the LCD display does not have a protective film covering it.

    I wonder if other people saw the same in their deliverables, or that I got a customer-returned item sold as new.

    @rototom What? I thought it was supposed to be a first come first serve basis lol. I placed my order on December 1st and all they've told me is that they haven't had enough cameras to reach my place in the line. Now that sucks. Well, at least you will get it soon :)

    Samy's Camera experience not that great: ordered my GH3 on Jan 17th AM when they were having 6 in stock, paying by Paypal. emailed me to say it would be shipped by the 18th. On the 18th AM they called my house to verify the address, and said "it's being shipped". All that day order status stayed at "Processing". eMailed in late PM to check on detailed status and estimated ship date - no response. Today (19th) still "Processing"... What bothers me is that there is no feedback as for the true status.
