In order to trace the original film camera, we have to go way back to the early 1800s to a dark room in France. This is where a French inventor, inspired by Leonardo DiVinci, came up with the idea of taking photos. There was no portable camera or 100 exposures. but a pinhole photographic camera and a dream. Who invented the camera? We can't talk about movies without talking about the rise of still photography. What year was the camera invented? The first partially successful photograph of a camera image was made in approximately 1816 by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce. It was a pinhole camera. Niépce took the first photo on a homemade camera, with silver chloride-covered paper. It used this small hole to help exposure times....
