Blackmagic Design 16TB Media Module for URSA Cine 12K Introduced

Blackmagic Design has expanded their Media Module lineup with the introduction of a new 16TB variant, doubling the storage capacity of their previously available 8TB option. The new media module is designed specifically for the URSA Cine 12K LF camera system and offers professional filmmakers extended recording capabilities for high-resolution productions. The Media Module features 16TB of M.2 SSD storage that installs directly into the camera’s media bay. The module supports up to 12-bit Blackmagic RAW files and H.264 proxy files, with data storage rates reaching up to 1,432 MB/s at 24 fps. This performance level enables recording at the highest resolutions and frame rates for extended periods. The storage solution utilizes Blackmagic’s proprietary media format and must be formatted within the camera. For workflow integration, the module is designed to work seamlessly with the optional Blackmagic Media Dock, which allows for hot-swappable operation during media transfers.
