  • Vitaly did you finally receive the new GH1 bodies? Thank you..
The most important thing when ill, is to never lose heart". -Lenin
  • is it possible to simplify or change the desing of the main menu guide in the gh1
  • More and more of us are starting to film in ultra widescreen. Maybe the GH17 "Lenin" could give us the ability to select a cropped aspect ratio of 2.39:1 or 1920x803 square pixels?

  • I can hear crickets in the thread. :-)
  • Forgive me if this is a silly question. @Vitaliy_Kiselev, I'm curious as to what your assumptions are in what hacking the new GH1 models will be like. Are you hoping you can just find a way to flash the newer GH1 models and replace the new firmware with the older hacked firmware and developing a process for everyone to do the same? Or is it likely that you will need to start from the beginning with the new firmware and create a new hack? I guess I just like to have a better understanding of what you are anticipating your approach to be.
  • You're right. It makes me sad.

    >If you do not like someone call it a puppet :-)

Lenin was one of the great minds of the 20th century. That's why i like him.
He's not to blame for the state of the world at that time.
  • > near universal impression among non-scholars that Lenin overthrew the Tsar, when the reality is that he was sent to Russia by the Germans with the intent of knocking Russia out of the war.

:-) I am really glad for your education system :-)

    > I like Lenin and his ideals, but he was sadly a puppet in a bigger scheme.

    Glad to hear.
If you do not like someone call it a puppet :-)

Btw I thinkt hat this is clearly discussion not for this topic.
  • And he was supported by big money from western central bankers.

I like Lenin and his ideals, but he was sadly a puppet in a bigger scheme.
  • Perhaps you are right, but there is (in my country, USA) a near universal impression among non-scholars that Lenin overthrew the Tsar, when the reality is that he was sent to Russia by the Germans with the intent of knocking Russia out of the war, which is exactly what happened.
  • >Of course the winners of the October Revolution wanted us to forget about the February Revolution which actually overthrew the Tsar

You'll be surprised, but it is not so :-) No one wanted to "forget about the February Revolution".
  • Of course the winners of the October Revolution wanted us to forget about the February Revolution which actually overthrew the Tsar.
  • Great October Socialist Revolution to be exact :-)
One that current authorities in all major countries want to erase from our minds.
  • A-ha.
    1917...Russian Revolution.
  • >but why "GH17" ? Just curious.

    Because 1917 :-)
  • Whatever name you call it...I will love it. I understand the "Lenin" suffix...but why "GH17" ? Just curious. Thanks for all your work!
  • >Have you decided to give it a new model name? We should call it the GH14.

It is too soon for this :-)
But if all goes well it'll be GH17 "Lenin" :-)
  • We are all so excited for you to get to work on the "unhackable" GH1. Have you decided to give it a new model name? We should call it the GH14.
  • They are traveling. Slooww.
  • >Exactly Vitaliy... How's the "Lenin" progress by the way??

Did those new GH1 bodies arrive safely?
  • Exactly Vitaliy... How's the "Lenin" progress by the way??
  • I think that we had some misunderstanding here.
    v1.4 is 14-140mm lens firmware.
    And v1.34 is body firmware.
  • >when people with the newer gh1(unhackable) cameras go into the "version" selection in the menu it shows V1.4 and not V1.3. Not real sure why it does, but it does.

I have a new GH1 (presumably - I just bought it and the PTool firmwares don't update from root). The version screen reads 1.3 on mine.
  • >Panasonics website under firmware for the GH1 they have a copy of firmware labled as v1.4.
Nope, that firmware is actually for the LENS, not the actual GH1's body firmware...

But anyway, I wish you fast success with the new HACK... I also bought a GH1 brand new, February 2011 made...
hopefully the "hack" is gonna be available very soon... Cheers from México!

EDIT: oops, Panasonic site links there and I didn't notice the distinction about the lens. Sorry to add to misunderstanding. :- (
