@B3Guy LOL, yeah it makes it easier to remember defo. :-) Ive enjoyed setting these babies up, didnt take long. Ive found a very fast way with elecard to get to stability once the first few tests have completed. :-)
you're really having fun with this whole naming patches thing! (and I must say, it makes it easier for others to distinguish between patches in discussion.) may I humbly submit some name ideas? 3GOPFATHER, or GOP3FATHER . . .
***NEW*** 176M GOP3 Shootout - P Frames versus B Frames using 'GOP1 style' compressor settings. Who wins? You decide! 1/ First three charts B Frames plus ini 2/ Second three charts P frames plus ini
Note: Both settings have been made under exactly the same stability tests and conditions, B frames version required slightly more maxlimiting tuning.

Had to shoot some tests under flickering fluorescents tonight. 720p60 worked perfect. Thanks again driftwood. Can't wait to try running this through twixtor!
@bkmcwd Sorry didn't understand entirely what you were saying when I read your post first time. Nice, congratulations, thats it then I reckon. Its as good as its going to get, and the drop in bitrate is a positive too. I will still try and tweak a tiny bit more out of it if I get time in the next few days.
@ignatius There's no guarantee that anything over 32Mb/s will span. This has been discussed. As stray mentioned, at these higher bitrates, it depends on how high the bitrate (driven by higher detail and motion) is working at the time of spanning. Woops... I just saw sohus already replied. sohus is correct.
Not spanning for me on a transcend 10 32GB (176 GOP patch) but I didn't expect it to? Wait, have I missed something? Is Driftwood's latest spanning on the best cards?
@krisCanonizado That all depends entirely on each scene, as in the average bitrate, if you're saying it isn't spanning. Which I guess its not.
@bkmcwd Very cool, it's getting there. It would be easier if we knew what the Initial QP would be for AQ2 at the specific bitrate. I'm stuck doing a load of post work now until the middle of next week, so I won't have much time to test, or try out some ideas. If I get some breaks though I'll definitely be on this and will try some setting changes out for comparison with what you're seeing.
@Stray Thanks! Although I also tried the former patch on outdoor today, when the tree was recorded, it stopped occasionally too... :-(
"We need an AQ1.5" I also hope the same! :-)
I stick the patch made using QP, before I use AQ. This setting is not bad, and I think this is compromising and practical. However, if stress is applied to the highest, although do not stop, the result of a chart becomes as attached first. If only a few weakens stress, as stuck on the 2nd, it will become a very good chart. And even if it moves between your test chart, pitch-black darkness, or lowlight, there is no problem as 3rd.
I flashed your new GOPStoppa setting to see if finally 1080i and 720p could compete anyhow with wonderful 24p. Now i recognized that when I set to 1080i the files that come out still contain two fields - so its still 1080i. Did I oversee something? 25p at reasonable quality would be so great in PAL land. Terrible flicker from all the neon and LED´s around.
