“There may be a more lenses such as macro, more zoom, large aperture, and prime lenses in the pipeline. While we were unable to have specifics, more lenses are already in the works, and on the X lens roadmap. High quality lenses have been developed after learning Leica qualities and applying them to their own designs, and by using software correction they are able to correct any distortion caused by the more compact lenses. This will mean that the distortion will / may show on RAW images, and that Panasonic will need to update RAW support for these new lenses.”
“He also said that the GH3 is not due imminently, as the GH2 is still extremely popular, but that there is a high end GF series camera in the works.”
I do hope they follow through with that! The 45-175 is my most used lens and I'd love full IS2 on my G85 with it.
Just an FYI about the 45-175mm Lens. I requested updated Dual-IS info about it from Panasonic.
received an email from Panny US, in which they stated...
"The firmware update for the lens is still under development.
It should be available in the first half of 2017.
Stay tuned as there will be an announcement as the date gets closer."
So, there is still hope. Don't despair. :-)
Is it possible to fit some teleconverter on 45-175mm lens? Will I be able to zoom with the lever or will this thing interfere with the smoothness of zooming?
45-175mm + Manfrotto mvr901ecpl panasonic lanc zoom on GH4 4k re-sized to 2k for youtube. Unlike the GH3 the GH4 lets you use some panasonic lanc devices, I've only tested with the zoom controller which works nicely with the 45-175 power zoom can't verify focus or aperture controls work. My 45-175 appears to be parfocal as well.
Shot this yesterday, first time using the zoom controller IOS off so haven't quite got the bite points sorted yet so a couple of bit's not as smooth as I would like but it's really nice to use and just me getting used to it not the tech. Now if only we could have a power zoom f2.8 constant aperture in this zoom range for indoor I would be very happy :-)
love the 45-175mm - brilliant quality and in the 40% frame rate modus very steady handheld even @ 175mm Mega OIS is fine here - where power OIS is dramatically dissapointing on the new 12-35mm This 45-175mm is my favorite panny lens
Waving Hair:
@kurth I suppose something new is coming very shortly based on the price I paid for mine.
I noticed that the 14-42 x black is discontinued . Wondering if a new replacement is coming ?
I finally pulled the trigger on the 14-42x. I think this is gonna be a fun little lens for my gh2.
Anyone have any recent video's shot with this thing?

Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 45-175mm F4.0-5.6 ASPH OIS + Gh2
Hmmm... when the dust settles, 14-42X should be worth around $300.
It has 2 EDs and 4 aspherical elements. Ain't cheap to make it.
The minimum distortion at 25mm.
In case anyone is wondering, when you put these lenses on an AF100 you can control the power zoom on the lenses with a standard zoom controller like the Varizoom when it's plugged into the S/S port on the back.
I haven't tried it myself, but read the fine print on this page. http://pro-av.panasonic.net/en/af100/lens_compatibility.html
i live in the US and I got it off ebay for $488 shipped to my door...
I am sure it is present on ebay.
Anybody know when on earth the 14-42x is coming out in US. It's still nowhere
here's a short video showing zooming in and out of 14-42 & 45-175 panny x lenses......
Another 14-42x video for you all. Showing the NANO flare at 14mm. (that's what I'm calling it) My take: zoomed out to 14mm in this example the NANO flare was annoying, but as soon as I zoomed in it disappeared. the fact that I was shivering from the cold didn't help it either... bouncing around.. 0:25-0:40 show the annoying part. also note right at 1:29 when I zoom all the way out the annoying flare magically appears. Then at 2:15 I zoom in and it disappears again. Anyway, have a look for yourself
