MAGA: Children are rare in US society

    1. The share of households with a married couple and children under 18 fell in 2021 to a record low to 17.8% (for comparison, the figure was 40% in 1970)
    2. Only 23.1 million US households have married couples with children. The last time there were so many in 1959, but then the population was 177 million, and now 329.
    3. The number of Americans living alone has set a historic record and has reached 37 million. This indicator has been growing every year in a row for many years.
    4. The birth rate decreased by 4% over the year and this is the largest reduction in 50 years.
    5. The number of Americans under 50 who do not have children and who said they are likely to "never have children" has reached a historic high of 44%.

    Musk added that too many “good, smart people” think there are too many people in the world and that the population is growing out of control.

    “It’s completely the opposite,” Musk said, urging people to look at the data. “If people don’t have more children, civilization is going to crumble. Mark my words.”

    ignoring social security paychecks for a second, how can they quantify civilization ending when it had less people in the past. it's not like it hasn't happened before.
