X570 motherboard pricing could be similar to Intel's expensive Z390 motherboards, if not higher. In fact, even the lowest-end X570 boards could cost more than most previous-gen X470 boards, though Chiang stressed that pricing decisions are still not finalized.
AMD right now they intend to sell X570 chipset for higher pricing.
AMD is changing its marketing strategy to focus on being a premium brand, as opposed to being the value alternative.
That change in focus could make X570 motherboard pricing comparable to, or even higher than, many Intel Z390 motherboards. "I would like to say the price would be comparable, and even higher for some SKUs," Chiang said. "But I can tell that if an X570 is compared to our Z390, if the specs are equal and everything, I don't think we [are] going to price AMD lower. I don't think that's realistic because the cost of the motherboard [will] be higher, and maybe the pricing [of] the chipset [is] higher."
Technology-wise the cost will be higher because of that. And then from the market strategy-wise, AMD also want to put that in higher segmentation. So, it's a situation. You can really expect this motherboard pricing will [have] a lot of gap between the X470s and 570s

News on B550 chipsets
ASMedia has landed orders for AMD's B550 and A520 chipsets that support PCIe 3.0 and will kick off shipments to motherboard ODMs and OEMs in the fourth quarter of 2019. The company is expected to be able to win orders for PCIe 4.0-based chipsets from AMD in 2020 after the tape-outs are smoothly done
ASMedia chairman Jerry Shen said his company will step up the development of next-generation PCIe chip products and offer complete USB solutions covering 5G, 10G, and 20G. He also said that ASMedia will also roll out USB 4.0 controller ICs in 2020

X590 chipset can be coming
Leaks and rumors suggest that we'll see X590 chipsets with much more outgoing PCIe lines.
As chipset is same as 12nm chipset on CPU itself it must have much more PCIe available potentially.
Currently x590 offers x4+x4+x4 only. Most probably X590 will offer x4+x4+x4+x4+x4.
And more bad news - no reason to wait for B550
AMD B550 and A520 Entry-Level Chipsets will stick with PCIe 3.0 Since ASMedia PCIe 4.0 chipset launches in late 2020.
AMD will also be offering two entry-level chipsets but like the rest of the existing 300 & 400 series motherboard lineup, they would stick to PCIe 3.0 rather than PCIe 4.0. PCIe 4.0 functionality will be kept exclusive to the X570 chipset till 2020 when ASMedia starts offering their own chipsets with PCIe 4.0 but till then, AMD’s internally manufactured X570 chipset holds exclusivity to PCIe 4.0 for Ryzen 3000 CPUs
