Why GH2 felt much better than GH6 will ever be - The paradox of choice

  • Thanks to VK and other contributors, I consider the hacked GH2 the biggest equalizer in prosumer video since the Sony DCR-VX1000 was introduced decades before and changed the game to digital acquisition...

    The BMPCC4K with BRAW may also be this decade's biggest equalizer for both non-traditional and traditional cinema acquisition. The delta in IQ is certainly closing most rapidly. A lot of beautiful art is generated in creatively dealing with limitations of tools and the medium of that time. There are fewer excuses not to achieve cinematic results with this generation of compact, minimally priced tools, which is light, portable, flexible and certainly allows more budget for assembling the right crew, which is worth more than the all the gadgets combined...

    @NickBen

    Hacked has very little to do here.

    But his point has a lot to do - GH2 had been mostly the only choice and it was clear that Panasonic was to blame for shortcomings with it. Not things are extremely complicated, it is huge number of choices and it is certainly mostly you who make shitty choices and (as you think!) shitty videos.

    It is also very interesting how wrong understanding and definitions can lead to strange conclusions. Like his strange understanding and definition of freedom instead much better existing one - http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/16674/good-quote-on-freedom
