Not a hack at all, but really interesting thing.
Have you seen those new features that can be unlocked to some lumix cameras like Gx80 and Lx100 with web browser using the imgapp web protocol? This is the conversation: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/24995-would-you-perhaps-be-interested-in-a-different-gx8085-colour-profile/
This is the web file for the browser: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B10Ows_xNNgHQXNMLWpkZXNkQUE/view?usp=sharing
In my G80, when Option Availble request is send, this is the camera answer: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B10Ows_xNNgHR3RDOHdCNUFqLXM/view?usp=sharing
You can see parts like this:
item enable="no" id="menu_item_id_ph_sty_vlog_l" option="detail"/
item enable="no" id="menu_item_id_v_quality_mp4ed_c24p_200mbps"/
Can a simple .html file unlock vlog or higher bitrates for free on Lumix G80?
Old topic, but anyone knows if increasing 1080p bitrate on the G80/81/85 via html went any further? @Grimor attempts seem gone pretty close. Just wondering if efforts continued or were communicated in other channels/forums.
–nostalgic about those colors, mad at the crippled bitrate sky banding.
He's back
BTM_Pix reappeared, probably with some good news soon.
No luck. I spent many hours with my G80 and nothing really usefull was found. Interesting things/prototypes was made by @BTM_pix but suddenly he disapear from online comunity. The man is missing, sadly.
Did anything happen to the 200mbps mode ?
Got it! We can only send commands and see if the camera responds.
Would be awesome if we could copy features from one camera to another. Such as high bitrates, v-log, anamorphic mode...
It's a very curious trick... What's the possibilities that something like this can bring us?
May be we really need to start some combined and open hacking effort.
I mean, at least he have now simple way to set parameters.
After many requested combinations G80 accepts:
<P><A HREF="http://192.168.54.1/cam.cgi?
mode=setsetting&type=videoquality&value=mov_25p_100mbps">mov 25p
100MBPS</A></P>
And
<P><A HREF="http://192.168.54.1/cam.cgi?
mode=setsetting&type=videoquality&value=mov_25p_200mbps">mov 25p
200MBPS</A></P>
Both generate same .mov corrupt files, so no hight bitrates here.
If you send http://192.168.54.1/cam.cgi?mode=setsetting&type=colormode&value=vlog_gamma
camera accepts and change color profile to "Standar".
Weird.
Keep on searching
Don't give up guys. I'm sure this wouldn't have been put into the camera without any real use. I'll play with this when I get time.
If you want to try by yourself here its a html file with plenty of hight bitrates requests: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B10Ows_xNNgHTWwyaEdIOUU4RWs/view?usp=drivesdk Connect, tryan option, back on browser and repeat.
@JOFO on GH2 when you made up super high bitrates it would just bottom out. So it wouldn't do the 'highest available' bitrate- rather some really low 'protection' mode bitrate.
@JOFO I think what is happening is similar to what would happen to the GH2. The encoder is stressed out, and then drops to a lower 'protection' mode bitrate. Could be a hardware limitation- both in LSI/ SDCard write speed, or even SDCard slot write speed.
Then again this may work on GH5 with more powerful LSI & V90 card?
Good news and bad news.
Proof attached, hope you don't mind @Grimor that I posted the thumbnails of your video. Also attached price of Treasured service.
