anybody noticed that the GH5 uses 200Mbit in UHD 24p 4:2:2 setting?
It appears you can now combine Ex. Tele with VFR, but only up to a maximum of 135fps. On the GH4 the two modes were mutually exclusive.
So with the 2.7x 1080p crop this would morph the PL100-400 into a 540-2160mm equiv optic, recordable at up to 4.5x slow motion.
Finally the GH5 pre-order has arrived. Made some early test images:
First impressions of GH5 are very good. The skin tones out of the box are such an improvement over the GH4 in both Cine D and Standard they look better than the GH2! They just look right. The stabilisation is astonishingly good, even with manual lenses. 10 bit unfortunately isn't playable in Quicktime yet, Premiere currently opens the 10bit files but crashes straight away when attempting to play them, FCPX plays them although quite stuttery until transcoded. Certainly think its less noisy in dark areas. 10 bit grades very very well in FCPX - you can add tonnes of saturation until it starts to break up. Tests to come. Apple and Adobe just need to do some updating methinks.
Not sure if this is tongue in cheek stuff, or for real ?

Thanks for posting! Really happy with how the video turned out! It's going to be making the rounds as Panasonic's Action Sports demo video at some trade shows coming up!
I am going to post this before TYler does - because this is VERY impressive
Shot with Pre-production GH5 last month in Mont-Tremblant Quebec.
First random shots in Hamburg (all autofocus + handheld)...
Lenses: Old Nikon 35/2.0; Old Pana Kit 14-140/4-5.6; Leica Kit 12-60/2.8-4.0
It will be more expensive till GH.. match JVC300 and D810 price but few will still buy it.
Think Panasonic may have to include some incentive, with lens combo deal or similar, when stocks are finally on the shelf here. Hope you will eventually have some PV deals.
Reading this Panasonic will make GH6 even more expensive :-)
Yesterday it seemed a bit expensive for me...today I'm thinking it's pretty good value for the money.. next week I'll probably want one.
Wow, just had a look at GH5 prices at a couple of camera outlets here at home. Approx $3,000. AUS for body, and $3,700. with a lens.

Not sure about the consumer market, but I reckon Grant Petty has a smile on his face concerning the pro market here. About $1,000 overpriced (because of our dollar at the moment) I reckon, and that's with v-log included.
As camera is shipping now, made new topic

@Eno Thanks
The base ISO of the GH5 is 200 for RAW pictures and 400 in V-LOG.
I have read somewhere the base ISO is 400. Not 100% sure though
Does anyone know the base ISO (higher DR) of the gh5?
