Another overview
If someone got a camera that behaves to give more balance to the meter reading to reduce the vignetting, then it will make the light gathering seems to be less.
Your words make not much sense. Vignetting does not depend on metering. And with different cameras matrix or similar metering can get you different results. As it can be very advanced, and lens has little to do with it.
The significant vignetting explanation makes sense in explaining variability in meter reading in the discussion section of the blog. If someone got a camera that behaves to give more balance to the meter reading to reduce the vignetting, then it will make the light gathering seems to be less.
Can anyone confirm the actual improvement in light gathering of this lens compared to the Leica 25mm f1.4 or Lumix 20mm f1.7? Is the lens a bit wider compared to Leica 25mm f1.4?
Any reason or measurements proving otherwise?
Usually at F0.95 all lenses have significant vignetting, so actual exposure advantage is less than you can think. But it is almost 100% of such lenses.
I am a bit nervous to jump and buy this lens.
It seems that it is a bit wider than Leica 25mm f1.4 from the "bottle" example at that website. I like that it is a bit wider. Whether the actual t-stop is faster than the Leica 25mm f1.4 have left me with a question.
Can anyone confirm the actual improvement in the light gathering of this lens compared to the Leica 25mm f1.4 or Lumix 20mm f1.7? Is the lens a bit wider as well compared to Leica 25mm f1.4?
It depends, best idea can be just get one via PV deals.
I hope to add all remaining Mitakon lenses this weekend.
Has anyone imported the lens from Hongkong to Europe? I would like to know the actual tax that one should pay to import the lens?
I did not have high expectations of the ZY Optics Mitakon Speedmaster 25mm f0.95. Such a small F/0.95 lens for such a reasonable price seemed to be too good to be true. However, the Mitakon positively surprised me

looks very nice. Could be a all around lens for video..And maybe would match well with Nikkor AI glass? So far anyone has this lens? maybe with a gh2? think I'll hold my gh2, and spend the money on this lens and wait till oly and pannasonic manage to make a proper hybrid camera. Do you guys think this lens would work on the BMPCC?

Now, Mitakon has 25mm f0.95 and 42.5mm f1.2 lens for micro43. Would they complete the lineup with something wider? I certainly want to see Mitakon 17.5mm f0.95 added to their lineup. I might consider to buy one.
