Hi I think the best cage for GH4 is the Tuba PA-1, perfectly and unique works in the world. You all can check and compare~ And it also works for Sony A7 series
I cant decide between the skier and the varavon, what one has the most sturdy most reliable handle?
thanks
Hi here is My short review of Skier Cage,
Congrats to people that made that suggestions @Vitally! The Cage works!
Btw, parts of design of this cage made due to our suggestions. :-)
What can I say? I don't own the Varavon but I almost don't feel the Cage, no notice it. I never feel the need of put it out. Is not in the middle of anything. It helps a lot whit handle...very happy
How do you like the cage? I cant decide between the skier and the varavon cage for my gh4, does the bar on left block the Focus Lamp light? Also does it Block your hand from getting a good grip on the side?
After I little nightmare with customs and taxes I got my Skier Lite Cage for my GH4, it works perfect. I feel the camera has good protection on it. Gives me an extra weight that is perfect for glidecam, handles very well. Well done and flexible. Give shoots from my chest and under that are easy to get. And I can put my FF easy if I need it. So very happy. And looks cool ;-D That´s the more important lol
@Alienhead If you mean the beginning of the video, it is a fake camera wih a fake lens in there. Like a placeholder.
I just got the Skier cage on Deals. It feels solid and I like the ergonomics. However the AF lamp is blocked by one of the vertical supports. The 12-35 f2.8 still seemed to focus ok, but it probably won't work well with some lenses or in low light.
I like being able to use the GH4's own grip, though it is slightly interfered with by that same vertical bar.
@AKED is it really a good idea to be picking up the GH4 in a cage by the lens?
I used the Skier cage during my Photokina reports.
Very solid. Here you can see a video with their products, at the beginning the cages:
No I have not tried it, but I do have the Gearbox. According to my measurements there will be about 1/4 inch free space between the GH4 and YAGH combination when installed.
Thanks yes, you are right. The Gearbox looks promising. Thank you!! I have actually written a mail and asked them. And got the reply that it might fit. Have you tried it with a Yagh and a recorder?
Leif_ivan See my post of July 5
Now when Shogun arriving I want to use the YAGH. But I need a cage (or platform for rods at least). Wooden Camera looks nice: http://woodencamera.com/Camera-Cage-GH4-YAGH.html http://woodencamera.com/Fixed-Kit-GH4-YAGH.html
But that is the only one I can find, or is there competition that I have missed?
Have anyone tried it?
Leif
I'm not a big fan of that Fhugen cage - I vote for the Walimex which I can use on many cameras.
@theconformist. I just received the black version today. It's a step up from my Honu cage which I'll keep for my Gh3. I haven't had time to see how my attachments fits but it's a very refined cage that hugs the camera.
@vitaliy_kiselev Thoughts on the Motionnine cage? Doesn't look like anyone is using it yet.
How is the Came-TV cage bad? Is the material, configuration, durability?
Where is no such thing as "Came-TV" cage. Mostly seller just rebrands stuff from noname Chinese factories.
Good cage is different in small parts - because people actually tested prototypes and used it, materials, cable fixing things, etc.
@Vitaliy_Kiselev How is the Came-TV cage bad? Is the material, configuration, durability? Was considering it but if you have experience with it I would love to hear some criticism.

You can just browse deals, we have almost all good cages.
what about that one? Looks kinda bulky. but i like it. for me its between this and the varavon and possibly the Walimex Pro Cage but its more expensive.
Came TV is shop, they do not make anything. And this thing is leaps and bounds worse than good GH4 cages.
