thanks man
Just got my GH4 yesterday. Testing out the 96FPS VFR functionality - Cine-D w/ Sigma 18-35 speedbooster
Hello everyone! Here is one of my first uploaded videos I shot with the GH4:
A m4/3 to m4/3 speedbooster wouldn't work, there is nowhere to put it, and the boosted image wouldn't cover the sensor. You need a lens with a long flange distance and large image circle (i.e. an slr/dslr lens) and a camera with a short flange distance (mirrorless) and a smaller sensor for there to be space in between the two for the speedbooster, and for the boosted (concentrated) image circle to cover the sensor.
@Killagram I agree... the relatively minor advantage of the bm speedbooster compared to using the regular m43 speedbooster isn't worth the risk on a new $1700 cam.
@AdamT Philip made it sound like a walk in the park and I'm guessing it generally is for someone familiar with using the Speedbooster on multiple cameras. Personally I wouldn't recommend it either since it can potentially damage your spanking new GH4. Gaining an f-stop of light along with a wider field of view is extremely tempting but until they develop an adapter that does just that without the risks I'll be using my wide angle lens and exposure zebras.
@kilogram Andrew Reed wrote an article about using the BM speed booster on GH3/4: http://www.eoshd.com/content/12735/metabones-speed-booster-works-gh3-gh4-give-1-28x-crop-almost-full-frame-look
Sounds kinda risky.
I'm really enjoying the way the GH4 grades shooting in CinelikeD.
@kingmixer According to Bloom you can use the BMCC Speedbooster for the best results, but you have to enable the electronic shutter or you can possibly damage the mechanical one.
Nah just says he used the BMCC speed booster.
@AdamT @rNeil, thanks for all the info. :)
@themacdeg, 'Bonne fête maman' look like incredible.
