In a briefing held by Sony UK today, company representatives stated that a new ultra-zoom bridge camera will be announced in February with a faster processor than previous generations.
Hopefully that translates into an rx10 mkll with 4k and xavc s codec and, 1080/120p as well ! At a reasonable price point aka ax100, that would give the gh4k some competition !
im guessing they were referring to the ax100
m guessing they were referring to the ax100
It's not feb yet, and the ax100 has already been announced, and it isn't a bridge camera, so I'd bet there's something else.
Great set at flickr with the RX10: http://www.flickr.com/photos/abumilad/sets/72157640441441593/
The DSC-RX10 easily bests other premium superzooms in terms for photo quality for two reasons. First, its 1" sensor is 2.8X larger than the 1/1.7" CMOS in the Olympus Stylus 1, and 4.1X bigger than the 1/2.3" sensor in the Panasonic FZ200. In short, it captures a lot more light. Another part of the equation is the RX10's excellent 24-200mm F2.8 Carl Zeiss T* lens, which is sharp from corner to corner. This combo allows the photographer to keep the ISO sensitivity low for a longer period of time than on other cameras.
The Sony RX10 is a surprising contender in the crowded marketplace for cameras. It’s a bridge camera for the consumer that wants the capabilities of a DSLR without the hassle of deciding which lens(es) to buy. Of course, its 1-inch sensor slots it below Sony’s APS-C and full-frame options, but it’s not a knock against the RX10′s abilities. It has the capacity to make beautiful images from 24mm at the widest end to 200mm at the longest end. The RX10 gets an additional boost from its built-in Wi-fi, which makes sharing via the Sony Play Memories app a breeze.

Let's hope this http://store.sony.com/angle-finder-zid27-FDAA1AM/cat-27-catid-All-Alpha-77-Cameras is coming for the rx10 too.
It is for DLSR Alpha cameras.
Yes, Sony has several wishful thinking lists available :) Don't expect Sony to take much consideration in user requests. I have used a eyecup from a Sony fx1000 yesterday which I velcrotaped onto the viewfinder, that made a big difference in bright conditions as all incoming sunlight was blocked. It was not a perfect solution but it worked, there are several general eyecups available for dslr camera so maybe with a bit of adjustment there might be an easier fit, the resolution from the rx10 viewfinder is sufficient to be used as-is, you only need to block incoming light to get a clear enough view.
@noa. Using Rx10 outside on a sunny day with waist level tripod is difficult. You don't see much on LCD. Has anyone actually compared how viewfinders differs between alphas and RX10? Duct tape is great :)
Second question: Does Rx10 have also automatic audio rec levels setting? I haven't found it.
