@xenogears 1. should be more than an hour never tested fairly cause it depends on what lens what mode and what you do with the cam.if you're in doors, you can always hook it to city power with a acdc coupler and adapter. 2. my 32 GB sandisk shows exactly two and a half hour rec time in 1080p60 mode. 3. yes 4. it is rather good but if you want more presence and high frequency detail get a good shot gun or go for a zoom H1 the cheapest.
I need to setup a two cameras system for live presentations, one for the presenter and the other one for the slides, so i'm thinking on the G6 with a JuicedLink RM222 to record the presenter and a cheaper GH1 for the slides, so? i have some questions to a G6 owner:
Thanks in advance.
@svart, low bitrate compared to what? To other cameras in its class, higher end cameras?
@Mckinise when you turn the electronic shutter on, it disables the mechanical one.
I can deal with low bitrate and all that if I can just have live HDMI out while recording.
The G6 is now $598 at Amazon and cheaper if you shop around. It may never be hacked, but at that price it shoots good video and has all of the features you desire.
I can have GH2 second-handed for 500$, but I'm not sure, since I want better picture quality (I want to take stills too), time-lapse mode, 60p at 1080, better ISO (I`m talking about G6). Thanks.
Hi, I got 2 questions about G6:
First: Continuous Preview in G6: What if I shot at night where there is not much light — is problem to see where I focus precisely?
Second: Is Voigt 17.5 good choice for prime lense (and one and only lense) for G6? I`ve had GH2 + Nokton 25 mm combo, but then I sold it in the middle of "creative crisis". So now I want to go back to this hobby, and buy G6 + Nokton 17.5 combo. Is it good choice? :-)
Thanks for your answers.
@Hionhifi Thanks - it's great pleasure working with those guys. Maybe next time they'll make a more international push :)
@Hionhifi So time lapse on this camera is always the electronic shutter?
@eyenorth, great video. I wish the words were in English, I might buy the album if it were. The music was that good.
@cjdincer, the short answer is it depends on how long your timelapse is. The mechanical shutter chews up more battery life than the electronic shutter. I've done 3800 timelapse shots on the electronic shutter on one battery. The electronic shutter is great for timelapse because you don't incur any mechanical wear.
guys when we use timelapse feature, does G6 eat up the life of its mechanical shutter?
@OBgene ask vitaly PM him. he might have one without the 29min rec limit.
is personal-view the best/cheapest place to buy a G6? I'm in the UK, and was wondering if it's the best place to go
finally, got my G6 two days ago. it has nice features. waiting for the hack now :-) . for now, looks like high iso performance is better than my hacked GH2. On the photo side, takes really good pics. AF works really good when filming in AFS mode; tried with 45-200mm Gvario Lumix lens.
Music video shot exclusively with G6 using a DIY lens. Grading is a little special on it - not a resolution test or DR fest this one. Have used the G6 for a lot for more conventional stuff, but it also was very nice to work with on a project like this.

With all such things - to PM.
@tired, will sell you my GH2 for $550.. are you in Oz?
He needs PAL one :-)
I'm looking at the G6 right now - dropped one of my GH2's and it's dead so I need a replacement. I can pick up another 2nd hand GH2 for around $600 or a G6 for $700 or a GH3 for around $1250. I know the GH3 is a good camera but the G6 seems a closer match to the GH2 ( I do multi camera shoots and want to avoid adjustment in post) I'd go for the GH2 but the advantage of peaking & zebras is tempting. it's a tough choice
@MikeA, You've got 1 bad lens, now there all bad. Amazing!
BTW: I don't have the "micro-vibration" issue. I shooting video and photos.
