@_OZ A bit much for me to comprehend, but I appreciate the explantation. So where does that leave the Mitakon for lenses like Sigma 18-35 - I guess you can't use it as there's no aperature control on lens or adapter. ..and no connection electronically to camera?
Ai-s lenses have manual aperture control, so an F to M43 adapter suffices (no iris control on adapter).
G lenses have no manual aperture control. So, the "G" to M43 adapter must have a ring that controls the iris.
Both are F mounts, so a G lens will mount to anything that an F (Ai-s) will mount to, but needs the "G" adapter or else your iris remains completely stopped.
A "G" adapter used with an Ai-s lens will in many cases allow you to set the aperture to the completely stopped down position on the lens, and then control the iris steplessly by way of the adapter ring. A nice feature!
Weird that they call it AI-s instead of F mount. Odd. Also kind of a bummer it's a dumb adapter. Hopefully someone will be the test bunny!
@CRFilms I'm not familiar with Ai-s versus other Nikon... does this work with Sigma 18-35 which is F-mount? Also I clicked link and it is listed as a Used item. Any idea why?
Contax MFT would be grrrrreat!
Contax Yashica to MFT!
@brunoalmeida Great :)
Finally some good news :)
Good News!
"have you any date to the release of minolta md - m43 lens turbo?
Today - Mitakon - 7:38am - Mitakon Thank you for asking , we will release news in the coming week^^"
May be we need another "Don't cry for me Argentina" topic about it?
FD to m43!!!! :-)
me too, fd to m4/3!
Yeah, no kidding. I'm waiting on an FD to MFT speed booster. I'm starting to get worried that I'll be retired before that comes from Metabones or Mitakon. They'd have my money TODAY if either of them would get it out there.
Any news on the MFT version of this adaptor? I haven't been able to find any updates on it as of late. Thought it was supposed to come out a little while ago...
The makers of these sorts of adapters claim that their condensing nature actually increases sharpness. For my usage, sharp lenses produce sharp results with the Lens Turbo, although even sharp lenses do see some softness towards the far edges. Softer lenses (like the Tamron 14mm in the edges, frankly) produce softer results. Lacking a glassless adapter to compare, I uploaded a full-resolution un-sharpened image taken with my Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 100mm f/4 macro lens, which is a consistently sharp lens.
Likewise, lenses which vignette without the adapter also vignette with the adapter.

Is there any news about the availability of the m43 version? Vitaly said that he was told it woult come in August.
@Vitaliy_Kiselev Ok, thanks, now I understand :) There are lots of cheap converter like FD-m42, etc. Since FD is the shortest flange focal distance available on Metabones/Mitakon, I think that it would be a good choice to buy a Mitakon FD and then cheap adapters FD-> OM, PK etc just to test our vintage lens collection (expect Konica A/R lens, which have a too short flange focal distance ) I realize that more adapters can complicate things..but I think it's worth to give a try since their price is pretty low... :)
I do not see where I told that it is not possible.
I mean http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flange_focal_distance .
Usually normal practice is to select converter for lenses you have with minimum flange distance. As having extra converter always on can complicate things (especially that many cheap converters have variations and sometimes are not very tight).
@Vitaliy_Kiselev Sorry, but I don't understand..could you please explain the reason why it is not possible to do it? I will be grateful to you :)
First, check flange distances of various mounts and get converter for minimum one :-)
I have a simple question about Mitakon Turbo Lens and Speedboster: according to the Flange focal distance, it would be possible to buy a Turbo Lens CANON FD mount (which is 42.00 mm )and then simply buy generic adaptors FD->OM, FD->Minolta, FD->M42, FD-> PK...etc, (like this one http://www.ebay.it/itm/M42-SCREW-Lens-To-Canon-FD-Mount-Adapter-/280551766515?pt=US_Lens_Adapters_Mounts_Tubes&hash=item41523039f3 ) Is this correct?
Apart from the blue spot, the photos in the post on dpreview seem decent in low light. Night shots with 135mm 2.8 have really the same look of 135 f2.0 takes thanks to the extra f-stop gained. I hope to test it on my GH1 for low light scenes when it will be available for m43...
Or they can just change the name to something like "Special Blue Dot Lens Flare Optics" and say they did it on purpose, like some other non named company :)
