Shooting a fashion show with a fixed wide angle is as pointless as shooting a POV with a telephoto. Just a marketing gimmick that shouts the usual "iPhones can do anything"
Sure, there's cameras with more MP, or another one with bigger pixels, then another with better low light iso: but no complete and convenient package like the iPhone right now. So don't split hairs, just because you don't like to use Apple. Same thing as with real cameras: stupid spec sheet comparison syndrome
OK, just do not turn it into Apple vs World flame. I really do not give a fuck about Apple package (despite having some iPhones).
Ha. I got up early today hoping to preorder iPhone 5s in gold!!!
@Vitaliy_Kiselev Yeah, yeah. I know. And this and that phone can do this or that better than the iPhone. But it's the complete package that counts. Everything else is just grease monkey syndrome and splitting hairs. Show me one other phone camera that works so good in so many situations. By the way: Burberry Teaser filmed with the iPhone 5S
They will film a complete fashion show just with iPhone.
Exciting. I'm really thinking about trying to include some 120 FPS shots from the iPhone in a project of mine, when I get my hands on it.
Thing is features you are talking about exist in other phones and in software also :-)
What makes the iPhone camera the best overall, in my opinion, is the way Apple sees photography: they view it as a kind of computing task. They are not simply trying to improve the sensors, which they know in phone cameras will always be inferior to the better compact cameras, but instead try to improve the photos through smart processing. Dynamicly combining several photos into one for greater dynamic range, shadows and highlights - this doesn't mean HDR - is really smart. The sundown image is really amazing for any point and shoot camera.
You can hate Apple all you want: but what they do is smart and very exciting. I expect the 5S camera to be the mobile phone camera to beat, yet again. And 120 fps stabilized hd video makes me really curios to see what quality that little thing can output.
Great stuff happening on the mobile computing market right now! :)
Scanner is interesting, but otherwise nothing major.
