I recently added a French flag to the mattebox. Hidden on the other side is the Atomos Ninja external recorder.

Everything DIY. With extension box to convert XLR to Mic in and 12V to 8.7V. Shoulder pad still not made, 416 Shotgun mic not mounted. Leather box houses 9800mHa battery that runs more than a day. Based on the Johan rig.Viewfinder made from leftover Matte box and viewfinder glass and tube from the very first HD-camera ever made. I think name wad HDR-1000, tube based, built around 1985.
This is an awesome thread. Thanks to everybody who posted. As a noob I have a hard time visualizing how all the different rig parts go together and this really helps me understand.
Hey rockroad - what type of clamp are you using for your mic / noga arm?
Here is my latest rig config, (slim version) :-) (Sorry, the first picture i forgot to resize for web)
Sachtler tripod , Tilta rig and follow focus , Movecam Mattebox
@cp_from_oz Here ya go man. The first pic is a close view with the MB swung away so you can see how everything lines up. At the front of the rods are the handle mount, then the swing away MB mount, then squeezed in there, the Varavon Lens Support, then the TrusMT FF, then of course the camera block that moves up and down to accommodate different lenses in the MB. The rubber band is not wrapped around the top of the lens hood though but when it does, it's pretty damn tight. The next shot is the same setup from a shoo the other night. The Varavon Loupe mounting plate is still mounted underneath the camera, I just removed the viewing box since we didn't need it at night. Same concept though but little hard to see. I think that's the Tokina 11-16 on in this pic instead of the Rokinon 14mm Cine. You can also see the ATC 15000 battery I used for tripod and handheld stuff now. I put a should pad in front of the battery and it works pretty well. Shot for two days on one charge! And the last one is just a really out of focus shot from the other side. Sorry, no glamour photos of my rig here. Too busy with life! :)
@FW200....ROFL!!! That's just fricn' awesome.
What?
ENG style setup with B4 mount. Fits VCT-14 style tripod plates. With Zoom H4N and 2 shotgun mics. 2" Digibeta viewfinder. Cheap homebuild :)
Had to take a few pics for the 5.6" monitor PV deal thread so thought I'd upload it here. Almost a finished rig. Requires 4x4 ND filters of all things and have not decided which ones I'm going with. Tripod also needs upgraded to most likely a Libec LS-38 or Libec LX-7. This is mostly a Lanparte rig, shoot35 matte box and the FINALLY fixed 5.6" monitor from the PV deal. Camera will be a MFT Blackmagic whenever that becomes available, not holding my breath.
Shoulder mount and hand grips are on there for show, but would not likely be on there unless it wasn't on a tripod.
GH2 Gini Rig with modified Rainbow H6x8-II F1.0 Zoom Lens, zip tie gears by Wide Open Camera, utilizing 2 Fifty Dollar Follow Focus for both zoom and focus. In shoulder mode, the levers adjust down for better use while gripping the handles for support.
Gh2 lilliput+cineroid monitors gini cage Genus mattebox Fotga follow focus
So far there isn't anything i dislike about it. I appreciate compact cameras and camera rig systems. So i wanted to make it as compact as possible. I haven't had the chance to shoot that much with it yet. But what i have shot has been very comfortable.
I used this rig to shoot this short film.
At the time i did not have the evf and i found it very difficult to get accurate focus. That was my only dislike but now i feel that problem is fixed.
Nice looking rig. Could you list the parts and any likes and dislikes about each?
