    4K real time playback on Premiere is bad on my 2019 MBP with 8 cores and 32 gigs of ram. I was hoping for better. I find that proxies help.

    No need for proxies on FCPX. Plays back multiple streams of 4K with no problem from my GH5's.

    2014 Mac Mini w/8G RAM and not even SSD, just the fusion drive from Apple, I can edit H264 plus extensive graphics with no issues. Animation gets slow, but animators know how to deal with that.

    Fuck an Adobe. Premier is old news ruined by greedsters. Resolve is a better long term option until they also screw their user base. It's like hop-scotch.

    Yeah, FCPX is lightyears ahead of Premiere in speed...and every other way.
