Tilta has announced their first major upgrade to the Hydra Arm Mini with a new Modification Kit to allow compatibility with the DJI Ronin 2 Gimbal Body. The Tilta Modification Kit includes a heavier-duty shock-absorbing head, 2 smaller support cables, a mount adapter for the DJI Ronin 2, and a stronger spring for the shock-absorbing arm. These four new components boost the Hydra Arm Mini’s payload capacity, supporting loads ranging from 8kg/17.6lbs to 13kg/28.6lbs in a two-arm configuration – good news for heavier camera/lens combinations. In addition, Tilta’s Modification Kit should eliminate high-frequency vibrations and allow for smoother footage, particularly at higher speeds. Shock absorbing head To provide stronger shock absorption for the heavier camera/lens combinations, Tilta replaced the original polyurethane material in the shock-absorbing head with steel wire. The steel wire absorbs vibration, so high-frequency vibrations are eliminated, providing stable gimbal performance. The Head is easily swapped with the original using a quick-release plate.
