Let's take a step back from all the Warner Bros. sale drama and travel back to this summer and all the fun we had with Superman. Remember how that movie gave us our first glimpse of Milly Alcock as a brash, irresponsible Supergirl?Well, the studio just dropped the teaser trailer for its newest film in the universe, Supergirl. It stars House of the Dragon's Alcock as Kara Zor-El. The film follows the young Kryptonian as she travels across the galaxy to celebrate her birthday with Krypto, only to wind up on a revenge quest with a young woman named Ruthye. It's based on Tom King's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic run and promises a less earnest, more edgy take on the iconic character.The teaser opens with Kara nursing what appears to be an intergalactic hangover while Blondie's "Call Me" plays in the background. Krypto is up to his usual hijinks. We see her sporting a brown overcoat and goggles, partying hard, then fighting alongside the Superdog we all fell in love with in Gunn's Superman. The footage hints at the film's broader scope while maintaining that character-focused approach Gunn brought to his Superman reboot.The film is directed by Craig Gillespie and also stars Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa.
