The CIPA report for July is out: worse than previous years (again)

CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association in Japan) published their July report and the downturn continues - the total number of shipped digital cameras is lower compared to the same month in previous years  (orange: 2019, black: 2018, blue: 2017, click for larger view): DSLR Units  -36% DSLR Shipped Value -45% Mirrorless Units -14% Mirrorless Shipped Value +4% Compact Units -19% Compact Shipped Value -16% Lenses for smaller than 35mm Units -31% Lenses for smaller than 35mm Shipped Value -29% Lenses for 35mm and larger Units -13% Lenses for 35mm and large Shipped Value -1% Mirrorless unit share (of Mirrorless + DSLR): 44% Mirrorless Shipped Value share: 59% Here are the other two graphs for lenses and compact cameras: List of participating CIPA companies can be found here.
