StandPro – a Flexible Camera ‘Tripod’

The StandPro is a flexible camera support that aims to replace the conventional tripod for lightning-fast solo shooting. As a large tension arm with a built-in floor dolly, the StandPro can hold a camera in any position up to 64 inches by simply lifting it. There are no knobs to lock or screws to turn, tension holds it in place. It’s not déjà vu; we’ve seen this exact same system before. Edelkrone released the StandPLUS back in 2016 but for whatever reason, their product is no longer available. StandPro vs. StandPLUS The StandPro is the exact same system as the StandPLUS, sold under another name and brand. They are even using some of the same promotional materials. It might seem simple, but for solo shooters repositioning a tripod can be a daunting task. Shooters have to hold the camera in the perfect spot, lock all 2-3 sections of each leg, and try to not drop the camera while doing it. Tripods like the Sachtler Flowtech, which features a single clamping lever for each leg, attempt to make things easier but that convenience comes at a premium. The StandPRO eliminates all knobs, levers, buttons, and extending legs. It uses pivoting hinges that hold their position without having to loosen or tighten anything.  The system allows a solo shooter to position a camera from 28.1 inches to a maximum height of 64 inches in seconds.
