Prolycht Orion 300 FS Light Firmware Update – New X/Y Coordinates Mode

Prolycht has just issued a new firmware update for the Orion 300 FS color LED light: version 2.02.13 adds a new mode for color selection based on X/Y coordinates in the CIE1931 color space. In addition, a free Prolycht Dome softbox is included with new purchases of the 300 FS in April 2022 (U.S. and Canada only). The Prolycht Orion 300 FS color LED is a unique light in an otherwise quite saturated market: it uses RGBACL (Red Green Blue Amber Cyan Lime) diodes instead of RGBWW ones. With this trick, the Orion 300 FS is able to produce a wide range of color temperatures (2,000K to 20,000K) while delivering up to 31,090lux @ 1m with the standard reflector. In addition, it has a wide range of Rosco/Lee filters built-in. Orion 300 FS chip. Image credit: Prolycht The Orion 300 FS was introduced in 2021 and has received several firmware updates since then. Prolycht Orion 300 FS: New firmware The new firmware now adds a feature that, according to the press release, has been very much requested: the X/Y coordinates mode. This mode not only works on the ballast, but also via DMX or via the accompanying ChromaLink app (android / iOS). New X/Y mode on the app (left) and on the ballast (right). Image...
