Prism Lens FX has announced two new handheld filter systems designed to create motion blur and ghosting effects directly in-camera. The Phantom FX and Spectre FX filters offer filmmakers practical alternatives to post-production effects, enabling real-time creative control during shooting. The Phantom FX: motion blur in realtime The Phantom FX filter creates what the company describes as a “ghosting motion blur” or “slow shutter” effect when held directly in front of the lens. The handheld design allows operators to move the filter during shooting, providing control over the exact look and intensity of the effect through positioning and movement. Available in both 100mm and 150mm sizes, the Phantom FX comes in two strength options: half and full. The smaller 100mm version targets compact setups including mirrorless and DSLR cameras, while the larger 150mm variant is designed for professional cinema rigs.
