Middle Things APC-R Mini – Ultra Compact Gimbal Controller for Live Production Introduced

The French company Middle Things has introduced the APC-R Mini. This specialized control unit fits in the palm of your hand and is designed to convert compatible DJI 3-axis gimbals into fully functional PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) heads that can be controlled remotely. Sounds like it could be an interesting solution for live video productions, so let’s have a look! Middle Things is focused on bringing innovative products to the live video production market, like their ATEM pocket controller for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, which we wrote about back in 2020. Their APC-R control, released three years ago, allowed users to combine a DJI gimbal and a Blackmagic camera in a PTZ head. Now, although the features and internal electronics are the same as the original, the hardware has been completely revamped into a tiny unit combining the APC-R, the APC-R gimbal adapter, and the Middle Tally all into one unit – the APC-R Mini.
