iFootage have released their new iFootage Shark Slider Mini earlier this year. We caught up with them here at IBC 2018 and talked about the interesting features of this portable slider solution that offers both, manual and automated movement control. The iFootage Shark Slider Mini offers a beltless modular track design and a manual or automated movement system. Smooth manual movement is assured through the iFootage custom detachable mini flywheel. Automated movement control is made possible via the Plug and Play motion system with 2.4GHz wireless control. The slider features a compact aluminium design, which is precisely engineered to 0.0032mm tolerance. The angle of the camera base is adjustable for various movement angles and can be locked in position with the lock lever. The modular design with seamless track extension means that more track pieces can be connected together via the metal buckle locks on the sides (easy and fast one-handed operation). The shortest setup with only one track piece gives the slider a total length of 460mm (camera travel distance: 220mm/8.7″) The slider with two connected track pieces has a total length of 840mm (camera travel distance: 590mm/23.2″). According to iFootage, it is possible to extend the slider even more (theoretically, without a limited number of track pieces). How long the slider can effectively be in real working scenarios will have to be tested. The recommended maximum payload of the slider itself is 5kg/11lbs, when using only one track piece and 4kg/8.8lbs when using two (or more) track pieces. X2...
