You can achieve storytelling with inanimate objects. Before I begin this essay, I should be clear—George the Robot, star of my new short sci-fi comedy System Error, is definitely a real robot. He would be very distressed if he knew I was out there talking about him like he was something I came up with and faked for a film. It would seriously send him spiraling into existential despair.
