'Die My Love' Sold for $24 Million at Cannes

Cannes is off to a hot start, with a massive sale. Mubi came in and bought Lynne Ramsay's Die My Love for $24 million. Last year, Mubi made a big splash with The Substance, and they're back again with another movie they hope ignites the Oscars conversations in the summer. The sales agreement includes North American rights, as well as distribution in Latin America, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, the BeNeLux countries, Turkey, India, Australia, and New Zealand. The film is also slated for a robust theatrical window and a wide release. — (@) The movie is a psychological drama based on the 2017 novel by Argentine writer Ariana Harwicz; it's about a new mother who develops postpartum depression and enters psychosis. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, LaKeith Stanfield, Sissy Spacek and Nick Nolte, with Lawrence also serving as a producer. The buzz at the festival is that both actors could be up for major awards, particularly with Lawrence looking down the barrel of another best actor nomination.
