Benro, a Chinese manufacturer best known for their tripods, the Polaris smart electric tripod head, and their gimbals, just announced two new tripods to be released via Kickstarter: the smaller Theta for $349 and the slightly larger Theta Max for $399. They announced them as the world’s first auto-leveling tripods and the launch date for the Kickstarter campaign will be around the end of February 2023. So let’s check them out! But before we look ahead, let’s look back a little bit, because tripods are amongst the oldest tools in the industry and even the early pioneers were already using them.
