Logitech axes Squeezebox, introduces UE
  • Yep, every corporation has few stages upon buyout of some good firm:

    • First, they do not care much (good stage).
    • Second, they start to improve (worse, but tolerable), original authors still can interfere
    • Third, they become angry, as few key top managers did not see their idea propertly implemented (warning!)
    • Forth, they introduce "amazing" new products, axing all original design, according to ideas of marketing team (road to disaster).

Here is one example : http://ue.logitech.com/en-us/smart-radios#tab-specs

As user of two Squeezebox products, it is really sad. Hope that they won't kill supporting site too soon.

  • Btw UE stands for Ultimate Ears, brand of their cheap player headphones.

Right now only thing worth mentioning is rebraded radio with dumbled down firmware.
