Hi friends,
I'm looking for film grain. I realy like the 35mm filmgrain from Rgrain but I don't have the money to buy the package :( Do you know where I can get free grain?
The grain effect in magic bullet looks 2.0 is not that nice I think.
Kind regards,
Johnny
impressive quality! thanks :)
Hello everyone! I'm pleased to inform you that there is a new source with free footage! I really like it :) Free 35mm Film Grain - http://vegasaur.com/free-35mm-film-grain
It's funny, that free 35mm grain from HolyGrain looks like my IV2 footage shot at 1250 and 1600. Almost exact!
@jclmedia Well worth the wait ;-)
@jclmedia Really? It takes 3 hours to download and you think it's already worthless. Great train of thought there buddy. That has nothing to do with how well the product will perform. Think before you post.
whats the point of this when it takes 3 hours to download it..?
Purchased the the complete holygrain package and used 16mm + some subtle microscratches and dirt for this - extreme value for money, thanks! Shot on GH2 and 5d mkII.

i like it when companies post here. nothing says "I listen to my customers" more than interacting with them on a forum. :-)
Hello guys, here's our year end deal! Get up to 20% off on every film grain pack or get UltimateGrain Bundle for only $39!!! Simply enter the promo-code "2013" upon checkout. Best wishes for a happy and creative New Year!!! Visit us at http://holygrain.com/ .
The free 35mm plate is actually here http://holygrain.com/downloads.html . There are sample videos at holygrain's website or vimeo (http://vimeo.com/holygrain). Probably i'm uploading some samples soon.
I have experimented with many grain plugins, before using grain plates. The thing with plugins is they are slow as hell and produce noisy, digital grain. Grain plates are real, easy to composite and fast to render. It's what pros and compositors use. Color grading is really important but again, I wouldn't trust ready presets to color grade my film for obvious reasons...
Film Convert for me
Thanks for the link MartinF!! This stuff looks amazing. Do they have any sample videos?
Download free 35mm grain plates(1920x1080 23,976) from http://holygrain.com/ .
The Ultimate Grain Pack -35mm, 16mm, 8mm grain + film dirt- is only 49$.
They also offer 35mm grain plates in 2K resolution!
I tested this grain 1920x1080 overlay on my brother that was waithing for me to take a picture of him.. I set the opacity to 45% because 100% looks to me a bit to much of grain! Also I tested the grain effect from magic bullet and set that one to 2
Yeah . . . I need more than 1920x1080.
@johnnygh2 I used that grain on this video!!
@B3Guy buy the Rgrain pack, or cinegrain - the free 'downloads' on the internet are a load of shit to be honest, macroblocking noise on noise and all that.
I've bought the Rgrain pack 1080p 35mm for 50$ i think? I use it on nearly every project, and it's a real plus for your clients ;)
damn downloading does take long from rapidshare... B3Guy look in the discription of the this video on vimeo there is a link... guess it is full hd version.
looks good. Anyone know of free grain files over 1080p? I do my anamorphic stuff at 2560x1080.
Sorry, nothing I can post right now I'm afraid, but download and try it yourself!
great thank you! can you show some footage where you use this grain with?
