@driftwood. Nick, you have out done yourself again. This latest Crossfire variation 3 is gorgeous. 24p is outstanding. The best HBR yet at 70-80 mb/s. with a Panny 14-140mm AFC, OIS it only experiences write errors/lock ups when you fully zoom to 140mm. 720p60 very good. SH Starts with low bitrates of 30+ but will pick up bitrates as detail increases up to 60mb/s. The only issue is 1080i60 FSH/FH. It records with bitrates of 70-80 mbs for both FSH and FH (which is interesting). It write errors rather quickly even using 64gb 95mbs card. I would have expected FH to come in lower bitrate where we could live with it. Any idea why and whether that could be corrected? I really like this setting...
@Driftwood, you are killing me with all these settings, decision decision decision, Thank you for your hard work as always =)
@joeDirt03 nice shot of the Jackie Robinson highway, I always hated that merge during rush hour haha
*** NEW *** CROSSFIRE Variation 3: VY Canis Majoris 'Night matrix setting' + Cluster 24p/HBR 30p/25p GOP1 meets Cluster v4 GOP12/15 720p modes with adjusted I scaling tables. Perfect looking buffers. Another great crossbreed setting. Recommend to use Standard, Smooth or Vibrant picture profile.

@driftwood When using a possibly slower memory card, in the GH2, does that limit the transfer rate and quality? ...and is that why incam playback works with these 'slower' cards?
With Cluster v4 12/15 GOP.
1.) Using a Sandisk Extreme Pro 32GB (95MB/s) card, incam playback only worked for a few seconds then quit. I was in 24L mode. All video was recorded to memory card ...had to view it on my desktop computer as you stated before.
2.) In 24H mode ...Incam playback of video on GH2 display was "successful" with Lexar Platinum II 32GB Class 10 (Max read speed: 15 MB/s, MIn write speed: 10 MB/s). The playback on GH2 displayed every entire clip. Link to Lexar card descriptor: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/809897-REG/Lexar_LSD32GBSBNA100_32GB_Platinum_II_100x.html
Playing at home with Cluster V4 3Gop Q20, Dynamic BW, 50 mm Nikon 1.4, ISO 400. When I play the files out of ClipWrap on QT, it looked strange on the out of focus areas (like heavy noise), but after FCX looks good to me, anyone detecting any problem?
@driftwood - Tried out Crossfire Skin Tone on a shoot yesterday, and I must say that it performed quite admirably. Not that I'd expect anything else!
@strancali Thanks! I used Zeiss Planar T* 50mm 1.4 and this adapter to be able to set the aperture: http://www.cyberphoto.se/?http://www.cyberphoto.se/info.php?article=KI102209
@sohus Correct
stability test results 25p: Quantum 9b updated works nice in HBR 25p on sandisk 30mbs-does not spam just stop recording (good enough :)) I know driftwoof patches ar for faster cards. However non of cluster 3 nor 4 span on that card 25p. I was hope for cluster 4 25p 12 long gop will span, unfortunately -speed card wright error, battery out. 14-140 8f 1/100
thank you @driftwood
David... great footage.. I have Ziess Jena 50mm 1.8 and it doesn't look that good on smooth -2 across the board.. actually nothing I have on smooth -2 across the board looks anything close to that ... I like smooth, great flat footage, unless I'm handing raw footage off to to others because there immediate reaction is "garbage" .. Smooth -2 is usually very very very flat footage that most minimal editors have no experience with. I usually run vivid -2 across the board to get footage out of camera that looks "relatively correct".
As others have said "What Ziess lens is that?"
Doing a project on Cluster4 long GOP, needed spanning, had the PM walk into my office when I was reviewing test shoot footage and said the detail was superb... I said the main talent needs more makeup or we will have to shoot it wider.. Amazing image quality isn't always your best friend.. lol
How does Mysteron do against Orion v4 Dark Matter v3? I 60p is stable in Orion is 60p pretty stable in Mysteron as well? And is Sedna Q20 A sharper than the AQ1 A? And hows the slow mo on Q20 A? I know on AQ1 A it sucks.
@davidhjlinberg Great stuff David!
@davidhjlindberg Very nice David, which version of the Zeiss did you get and what adapter?
Just wanted to share my latest test where I wanted to see the true colors from my new lens, Zeiss 50mm 1.4, and the GH2. This is a video with no grading or color correction at all, everything is straight from the camera (I added sharpen in Premiere).
I was using Sedna AQ1 Smooth (-2-2-2-2).
