GF1 hack will not upload to camera

I have not been able to get my GF1 to upload the modified .bin file. I have updated the camera from 1.11 to 1.22 a week ago [just after buying it].
But it has resisted my best efforts to upload. Could It be that I don't have a lens on the body. I do have an Olympus OM lens with adapter, but of course there is no electronic connection. Funny part is that it updated the Panasonic 1.22 file fine with this lens.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have gone through the directions over and over again.
