  • thx a lot @Macalincag , feel a bit less stupid now ^^

  • @Driftwood "just sorting out INTRA on 720" That's great news :)

..and for an encore...? Cold Fusion? Thanks Nick :o)

  • Good grief, Nick.

I literally just loaded the first version of Quantum X v2 last night. Now you're already cooking up another batch? Or is it just that you never stop? Anyway first tests of complex/high motion images on the SanDisk Extreme Pro 64GB / 95Mbps card are all good. Smooth recording, very pleasing fine grain, in-camera playback on 24H and image quality so good I can find absolutely nothing to complain about. If you ever get to north Texas you get a pint (or few) on me. Plan is to test spanning later tonight or tomorrow afternoon.

  • mhmm you can drink for free in belgium too ( gent ) seriously =) + we actually have great beer in belgium..

  • @JMZ Just need this project finishing... indeed it gets quicker the more you know... ;-)

  • I have apparently dropped frames, can't tell for sure what it is because i'm on a mac, but, in 25HBR, the image jumps, on both v1 and v2, and also after conversion in 5dtorgb and Clipwrap I get this interlacing lines. anyone had this happening?

  • didn't check every frame of every footage i shot but didn't notice anything weird so far =)

  • Which of these would you reccomeend for etc shooting in 24h, variable speed mode, and720p60?

I shoot all etc and am currently using aquamotion v2

  • in 25HBRext everything looks fine

  • Would anyone read this kind enough point me to Where is V1 Rocket ini file? Was it at V2 ini place before? Are these coming V3, V4 replacing V2 place?

  • @driftwood, is there a chance that you will make SpanMyBitchUp compatible with v1.1? I love the settings. I not doing any professional work with the camera but only recording my family. I love the improved video over the stock. If you won't have time to revise SpanMyBitchUp, can one simply lower the bit rate on Quantum to around 50-60mbs? Thanks.

    Regards.

  • I will do a quick upgrade to v1.1 of all the old fav patches and stick 'em up on the low GOP thread over the weekend.

  • I have QuantumX v2 running with a SanDisk Extreme Pro 64GB / 95Mbps and the 24p looks great but I am getting card speed limitation errors with 720p60 on SH and H. I have the 20mm pancake and was using autofocus in low light. I haven't really read about anyone with write errors errors the 64/95mbps so I was just curious if this has happened to anyone else.

  • 720p60 is the most codec stressing setting out of the lot. There's still things to be learned for 720.

  • Do you sleep Driftwood? =)

  • I think Im nocturnal... but my body doesnt...

  • @driftwood Thanks! No worries I was just curious. I have seen that 720p60 is torture for you through these past few months reading all the posts. I hope you can make it your bitch. : ) Thank you for all you do. You are the effing man!!!!

  • @eyefi I have also noticed some interlacing artifacts in 25HBR mode. Clip wrapped also.

  • (GF2) - Is it normal for StreamParser to show my clip as 1080/24p?

  • @snoopdog49r

the current 720p 60 in latest quantum will work in non panasonic prime lens with a fast card.

Or at least it works a lot better with them.

I have 3 pan lenses and they will all write error, although I 've had several tests get out to 45 or so seconds. I first test with af off and a stationary scene. But even those write error. The more af and zoom quicker error.

The first test with a fresh on camera seems to be the most stable. Have no idea why that is, although maybe something to do with the camera warming up. Then again, you'd think you get better results with a warm sensor.

Always use 95mb 64gb sandisk or at least 30mb/sec, Any other card at this time for 720/60 in quantum wastes everyone's time. It's at least one variable than we can control.

  • @driftwood Ive done a very brief and VERY random day/night test of QX V2 for you in 1080p25 HBR mode, I am very very pleased with this firmware, by far the best (so far) for my needs. I feel there is more 'mosquito' noise in general compared to 24H mode, but I will not cry about it as it is still RIDICULOUSLY good what you have achieved. I had my first ever card lock up (sandisk 30mb/s) on this patch in HBR when I was shooting at 12,800 on the 14mm Lumix, in case that is of any use. Thankyou for your hard work sir.

  • What's the state of 1080/30P at the moment? Anyone tested it out yet?

  • @kholi

hbr 30p. I did a quick run through with it. It seemed stable on all lens and had a good streamparser graph. Image looked very nice but not an exhaustive test by any stretch. Worked with 95mb and 30mb sandisk. No span test as of yet.

Worth patching now and testing, I think.
