    Former Polish President Lech Walesa has proposed cutting Russia's population in half, writes Le Figaro. In a conversation with journalists from a French newspaper, the Nobel Prize winner suggested that there are only two ways to tame Moscow: the first is a coup d'état with a complete change of power, and the second is a reduction in the population to 50 million people. Currently, 144 million people live in Russia.

    I think he meant the balkanization of Russia, thereby reducing Russia to that number. Which is equally insane.
