Atomos is developing ProRes RAW support for Sony’s new Alpha 1. The Ninja V will eventually be able to ProRes RAW from the Alpha 1 RAW output at up to 4.3K 60p.
It's very clear that the A1 is capable of downsampleling from 8K to 4K or FHD but Sony artificially crippled this very useful feature for internal recording. :)
In the video scene test DPReveiew, clearly the Canon is a teeny bit more detailed than the Sony. It's a real shame there is no ZCam F8 to look at.
Sony a1 added to studio test scene for stills and video:

Although the noise (like the price) it's higher compared to the competition and the 4K is very soft, overall I like the image quality: the photos are detailed, colors and graduations are great and the NR algorithm strikes a grate balance between the noise vs details. The video side is not so impressing but all in all it could be a nice camera for under 4000$. :)
One thing you need to understand - cameras are now going the way of audio Hi-Fi market.
Niche thing, controlled reviewers, few magazines (now sites), rich and middle class, but not mentally stable buyers :-)
Can just read the history of this transition.
And Fujifilm for reason is so popular as it does same retro fashion look Hi-Fi makers started to do.
The build quality, old and low res LCD and video features are underwhelming + the price "sky high", but at least the image quality is very nice. :)

It's all cause of that tiny uncomfortable tile they call "a pro body", that's to small and uncomfortable to hold, to small to properly dissipate heat etc!
Sony A1 overheats and shuts-down after just 16 minutes when recording 8K video, which is even worse than the much-maligned Canon EOS R5.
A1 can record 8K video for almost 80 minutes with the temperature limit set to High, rather than standard, yet it comes with much higher sensor noise as it works at physical limit.
