Camera market is now extremely unfriendly place. With any economic downturn that will follow after next step in US-China trade war we can observe much worse situation.

Insiders talk is that 3 brands are now under serious trouble, with 2 of them who can close all new development except making some lenses still, as it is inexpensive, high margin and requires much less people.

Two brands that can cease development are Olympus and Pentax, they will try thing like Samsung did and will go out in full silence, still making lenses and accessories for 2-3 years and selling remaining stock.

Nikon is third brand with serious issues, but they are not expected to have any big trouble, except 20-30% drop in sales this year.

It is also expected that Panasonic can have their final say in m43 cameras lineup this year with super premium priced video oriented camera. Some rumors are about exclusive use of XQD cards due to Sony demands.
