It is not "achilles heel", it is just LSI limit. Same one that does not allow 4K at 60fps.
They just chase larger margins and cut development costs for it.
It is weird that Sony left such an obvious achilles heel to this camera: the lack of UHS-II support.
If this camera can deliver enough shallow dof and good low light performance, then there is no reason to carry a mirrorless camera with lots of lenses. a camcorder can be much more practical.
Yes! Sony is the new Canon...
Well, Canon presented very good camcorders today :-) With 4K 60fps and Dual Pixel :-)
No UHD 60p. No 4:2:2, no 10 bit. A disappointing incremental change, using technology (PDAF) they already were using in the RX100 V and the A6500 of last year.
I think 960fps is at usual 480p
I got excited for a moment when I saw 1080p at 960 fps in the description, but I guess they're still just talking about the wrapper format. Hopefully the new Alpha cameras are more exciting when they're announced.
marketing department just decided it is not politically correct to call it "spit resistant".
"The RX10 IV is also dust and moisture resistant [xii]" "[xii] Not guaranteed to be 100% dust and moisture proof."
Never seen that before.
My mistake. Sorry!!
